Don't walk late at night when the streets are empty and businesses closed.

If walking at night try to have a friend walk with you.

Don't carry more money than you will be using on that day.

If you think someone is following you, cross the street or change your direction.  If that person continues to follow you, move quickly in the direction of an open business or a lighted house.  Don't be afraid to yell for help.

Always lock you car doors, even if in your own driveway.

Never leave your engine running.

If someone tries to rob you, give up your property - not your life!

Assault is a crime, it doesn't matter if it was committed by a family member or a stranger.  Call the police immediately.
