PURPOSE OF
COUNCIL COMMITTEES
There are
four standing council committees designed to assist the full
council in review of major issues facing the Town and to
make recommendations on items of business. These are
the Finance, Property & Recreation, Public Safety and Public
Works Committees. Each Committee consists of Council
members and a citizen member. The Committees meet
monthly prior to the regular meeting of the full Council.
A number
of citizen committees also assist in running the Town
government. These have special functions such as
planning, zoning, building, fire services, recreation,
library services or parks. These committees advise
Council and do not formulate policy on their own.
