The Pearisburg Public Library is a growing facility, with 35,877 volumes that provides services for all age groups.  Registration for a membership card is available during scheduled opening hours which includes two evenings each week.  

Business Hours:

Monday Noon-8 p.m.

Tuesday Noon-5 p.m.

Wednesday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Thursday 9 a.m.- 8 p.m.

Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Saturday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Services:

Photocopies:  15 cents and 25 cents depending on size

Laminating;    $1.00 and $3.00 depending on size

Faxes:  $3.50 to send long distance, $1.50 to send local and $1.00 to receive

Interlibrary Loans:  $1.00 per title

How can I get a library card?

To obtain a library card, an ID such as a driver's license is required for verification of current address.  Parents or legal guardians must endorse library membership for children under 16 years of age by signing the child's application card.  By signing for the minor, the parent or guardian assumes the responsibility for the return of any library materials and payment of any fines or charges incurred by the minor.

Circulation Periods and Limits:

All books except new adult fiction:  2 weeks, 1 week for new adult fiction.

Magazines:  1 week with limit of three

Videos:   1 week with a limit of four

DVD:  1 week with a limit of four

CDs:  1 week with a limit of two

Books on Tape:  1 week

Books in the Reference and Genealogy sections do not circulate.

Computers:

The library has six public access computers, 4 adult's and 2 children's.  Adults have access to the Internet and word processing.  Time limit of one hour per day, longer if needed and requested ahead of time.

Friends of the Library:

Friends of the Library supports the library monetarily with the Saturday employee, summer reading program and other projects.  To become a member the the "Friends" please inquire at the circulation desk.

Library Programs:

 Summer Reading Program: This program is designed for children who have completed kindergarten through age twelve.  However, participants may invite younger and older siblings, parents and friends to join us. This event is held in June and July.  For more information please call 921-2556.

Preschool Story time:  This is held at the library on Wednesdays starting in late June and ending in late July.  For more information please call 921-2556.
